History, architecture, beauty and iconic oak-lined esplanades can be found at the historical Oak Alley plantation situated on the legendary River Road.\u00a0This tour comes with or without a tour of the legendary Manchac Swamp or in combination.<\/p>\n
Built in 1837-39. It is famous for its\u2019 alley of 28 evenly spaced Live Oak trees, believed to be at least 100 years older than the big house.<\/p>\n
During the approximate 40 minute tour, enjoy a professionally guided tour of the “Big House” conducted by expert guides in period costumes. Learn about the plantation’s fascinating – and yet often somber – history. Photography is not allowed inside the mansion.<\/p>\n
Pick-up available from many New Orleans, Metairie and Kenner hotels.<\/p>\n
Pick-up BEGINS at 12:30PM and may continue for up to 30 minutes. Please note that this is a shuttle which will also stop at our swamp tour location.<\/p>\n
After leaving the city at approximately 1:00PM, our buses arrive at the swamp at approximately 1:30PM for a transfer to the plantation.<\/p>\n
Buses depart the swamp no later than 2:00PM as the plantation tour is on a scheduled tour time. Many guests enjoy these 30 minutes of free time browsing our gift shop, using the restroom and enjoying the grounds at Cajun Pride (unless traffic conflicts occur which will reduce the amount of free time).<\/p>\n
The driving time from New Orleans to Oak Alley is approximately 1 full hour or more depending on traffic plus approximately 30 minutes built in for our stop at the swamp.<\/p>\n
Cajun Pride transportation will drop off guests at either location between 2:45-3:00PM. The plantation requires our bus driver to assist in the check-in process for ticket distribution.<\/p>\n
Oak Alley tour time is approximately 3:00PM.\u00a0 This time is what is offered through the Oak Alley Plantation, and we are unable to deviate from our assigned tour time.<\/p>\n
Cajun Pride transportation will pick-up guests from Oak Alley Plantation between 4:30-4:45PM for transfer back to the city.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Personal car or rental car is suggested for those who are on a strict schedule or do not wish to wait on the shuttle service. \u00a0Please review our Q&A page for additional information.<\/p>\n
